What we collect
We, the developer, collect nothing. There are no servers we operate, no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no trackers of any kind. We have no way to see your recordings, transcripts, summaries, or speaker names, and the app never sends your data to us. The only time any of your data is shared with anyone is the optional cloud-summaries feature described below — and that data goes directly to the AI provider you select, never to us.
How the app handles your data
By default, all processing — recording, transcription, speaker diarization and recognition, and summarization — happens locally on your device using on-device models (Apple's built-in models, or the optional on-device Omni-Text model you can download). Your sessions are stored on your device, under your control. Deleting a session deletes it; deleting the app deletes everything.
Microphone access
The app asks for microphone permission so it can record when you start a session. Audio is captured and processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted to us. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you enable sync, your sessions — transcripts, summaries, and speaker profiles — are stored in your own private iCloud database so they appear on your other devices. If you additionally turn on audio sync, your recordings are included too. In every case this data lives in your private iCloud, governed by your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it.
Cloud summaries (optional, off by default, your own key)
By default, summaries are generated entirely on your device and nothing leaves it.
You may instead choose a third-party AI provider — currently Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI — to generate summaries in the cloud. This is off by default and requires two deliberate steps: selecting the provider and entering your own API key, after agreeing to the data-sharing notice the app shows you. If you enable it, then each time a summary is generated:
- What is sent: the text transcript of that session, including any speaker labels or names you've assigned. Your recorded audio is never sent, and neither are voice profiles.
- Who it is sent to: the specific provider you selected — Anthropic or OpenAI — directly from your device over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, using your own account and API key.
- Who it is not sent to: us. The transcript never passes through any server we operate; we don't have one.
- Under whose terms: the provider receives and processes that text under your account with them and under their own privacy policy and terms, which govern how they use, retain, and protect it. Please review them: Anthropic and OpenAI.
- Your API key is stored securely in your device's Keychain and is used only to communicate with the provider you chose.
You can stop all cloud sharing at any time by switching the summary provider back to an on-device option, or by removing your API key, in Settings.
Children's privacy
Because we collect no data from anyone, we collect no data from children.
Your responsibilities
Recording laws vary by place. You are responsible for notifying participants and obtaining their consent where required by law before recording a conversation.
Changes to this policy
If the app's privacy practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above.
